SignalOS
Draft — pending legal review. This describes how the product is meant to be used and what it already refuses to do. It is not a binding contract.

Acceptable Use

SignalOS measures how AI engines describe brands, and crawls sites you are entitled to crawl. These are the limits on that.

Sites you crawl

  • Crawl only sites you own or have permission to crawl.
  • Our crawler reads and obeys robots.txt on every crawl, and a page it disallows is not fetched.
  • Requests to private, internal or loopback addresses are refused by the product itself, and no setting turns that off.
  • Page fetches are bounded in size and rate; the crawler is not a load-testing tool and must not be used as one.

The AI engines

  • Measurement runs against the engines' own published APIs, under their terms.
  • We do not scrape search results pages, and you cannot make the product do so.
  • If you bring your own provider key, your use of that provider stays subject to that provider's terms as well as these.

Fair use of the platform

  • Plan limits are real ceilings on measurements, crawled pages and budget, enforced at the point of the write rather than at the end of the month.
  • Rate limits apply to the expensive endpoints. Working around them, or splitting one workload across several accounts to avoid a limit, is not acceptable use.
  • Do not resell raw API access as though it were your own product unless your plan includes it.

Content and conduct

  • Do not use SignalOS to harass, impersonate or defame anyone, or to build profiles of individuals.
  • Do not upload content you have no right to, or anything unlawful.
  • Do not attempt to access another organization's data. Every read is scoped to your organization, and attempts are logged.
  • Do not use the product to generate deliberately misleading claims about a competitor.

What happens if this is breached

We would rather ask first. For anything serious or repeated we may suspend the account. We will tell you why, and what would resolve it.

What still needs real legal drafting

Suspension and termination procedure, notice periods, and how this interacts with the main terms. None of that is written here.
